Business communications are of vital importance. When moving premises you need to ensure your customers, as well as your suppliers and business partners can always get through to you. We understand that moving can be challenging and can help move your communications with minimum disruption.

To ensure a smooth transition, there are a number of important points you will need to consider when relocating your business. 

Can I keep the same numbers?

You can keep your numbers if you are relocating within the same Telstra exchange.  If your new premises is in a different exchange area, you will need to order new numbers, and diversions placed on your existing numbers so people can always get through to you.  Diversion charges will apply.

How much notice is required?

It is critical that you provide us with sufficient notice to co-ordinate the relocation of your services.  It is important that we know exactly where and when you are moving and what services are required. This enables us to book well in advance to ensure you can move on your required date. Changes may cause delays. 

It is also important to understand that standard lead times apply to all telecommunication services as below; 

Standard Line (PSTN)                                                        5 - 10 working days

Clear One (subject to availability)                                    20 – 40 working days

Digital – ISDN 10/20/30                                                     20 – 60 working days

IMPORTANT: These are subject to Telstra Service Level Agreements and should be only used as a guide.  In the instance where lead-in or Telstra infrastructure upgrades are required, extended delays may occur.  Additional charges may apply.

What’s available at my new premises?

It is important to check the cabling infrastructure available at your new premises.  If unsure, we recommend a site inspection prior to you moving allowing plenty of time for changes. 

What are the costs involved?

For all new or relocated services, connection fees and/or redirection fees will apply.  You will also need to consider any costs for cabling and relocation of your phones systems.

Diversions 

Below are a few services that can help you ensure a seamless transition from your current address to your new one. These range from forwarding calls to mobiles or pagers during your move, to arranging automatic diversions from your old number to your new number(s). 

Number Redirection

Redirect calls from your old number(s) to your new premises and you can also choose to let callers know your new number at the same time. Number Redirection offers you a choice of three options to suit your needs: 

Option 1: Announcement plus Redirection

When callers phone your old number, a recorded voice announces your new number before callers are automatically transferred through to your new number(s).

Option 2: Redirection Only

When callers phone your old number they are automatically transferred through to your new number without a recorded announcement.

Option 3: Announcement Only

When callers phone your old number they will only hear a recorded announcement of your new number.
